This new toolkit from NHS England is an interactive document providing a range of ideas and options for clinicians and other professionals, with the aim of supporting them in implementing online consultations.

Review of learning from avoidable brain injuries at birth

NHS Resolution has recently published its report on the first year of its scheme to improve maternity and neonatal services and to make sure that families are better supported when babies suffer avoidable brain injuries at birth. The report includes six recommendations, with the second covering support for NHS staff involved in such incidents.

Notification of Deaths Regulations 2019 guidance

The Ministry of Justice has published guidance for registered medical practitioners on meeting their duties under the Notification of Deaths Regulations 2019, which came into force on 1 October 2019.

NHS doctors and dentists to receive 24/7 access to mental health support

All NHS doctors and dentists can receive confidential advice and support if they’ve faced a stressful incident at work or feel they are struggling with their mental health. Support is available in person or over the phone, with staff able to access support 24/7 through a dedicated phoneline and text service.

GMC publishes 2019 workforce report

The GMC has published its first workforce report, as part of the 'State of medical education and practice in the UK'. The report includes new data, and recommendations to help inform emerging workforce strategies and people plans across the UK.
