Avoiding medico-legal pitfalls in practice

Future dates for this course will be announced.

GPs are vulnerable to criticism from lots of different sources. Concerns can arise from the most seemingly harmless and innocent of situations, and a wide range of different investigations can come about as a result of a single incident.

However, we believe this 'multiple jeopardy' can be mitigated by the approach taken by doctors and the practice team when things do go wrong.

This interactive course is for GPs and practice managers who want to manage these day-to-day risks better, and aims to help practice teams 'get it right'.

Course content

  • Multiple jeopardy
  • Managing complaints/confidentiality and conflict
  • What getting it right looks like.

This course complements all our other courses, but particularly those on complaint handling, conflicts and the duty of candour.

Who should attend?

  • GPs
  • Practice managers
  • GPSTs
