In this course you will explore the legal aspects of consent, confidentiality, mental capacity, and issues relating to the treatment of children and young people using case scenarios.

Sarah trained in London and undertook an intercalated BSc which involved medical ethics. After graduating she spent several years in A&E and general medicine before becoming a GP. She was a GP principal and trainer and was involved in medical student teaching. She also sat on the GMC and MPTS Fitness to Practise Panels, eventually chairing them.

Nicola completed her post graduate training in general and vascular surgery before taking up post, initially as a senior medical officer, then Deputy Medical Director in the medical devices division of the MHRA. She joined the MDU as a medico-legal advisor in 2013 and completed her graduate diploma in law in 2014.
