A judge dismissed a patient's claim against an MDU consultant gynaecologist member after finding that informed consent had been obtained for a vaginal mesh implant procedure.
This and the 2015 Montgomery judgment underline the need for doctors to take reasonable care to make sure patients are aware of 'material risks' when obtaining consent.
