Improving consultant team dynamics

Oscar is a barrister, mediator and door tenant at Lamb Chambers in Middle Temple. He has a background in regulatory and public law, and a special interest in medical law and ethics. Prior to his work with the Medical Mediation Foundation (MMF), he was a senior legal adviser to the GMC. His work with MMF includes training and mediating healthcare teams.

Esse became a consultant paediatrician in 2006 and an accredited mediator in 2014. She gained a PhD in vaccine development research before qualifying as a doctor, then trained in Infectious Diseases & Immunology. In 2012, she helped develop the Evelina Resolution Project with Medical Mediation Foundation (MMF) while she was a consultant at the Evelina London Children's Hospital. She's also an MMF trainer and has extensive experience in clinical education, conflict management and compassion training.

John has been with the MDU for the past 11 years, having previously worked as a GP. He has wide experience as a senior medical claims handler, assisting MDU members with clinical negligence claims.
