This module has been updated to reflect the GMC's 'Good medical practice' (2024) guidance.

This standalone course will be useful for any doctor who needs to complete death certification. It will cover who can complete a medical certificate of cause of death, take you through how to fill one in, and look at when a death needs reporting to the coroner.

Throughout the course there are interactive questions and scenarios to facilitate and consolidate your learning. You will have the opportunity to tailor the content based on whether you work in primary or secondary care.

Learning objectives
