The Electives Network (TEN)

The Elective Network website

MDU student members have exclusive access to TEN, the ultimate online elective planning resource. Whether you want to go with an elective provider, travel as part of an independent group, or go your own way, TEN has information that can help you through the planning process, all the way to departure.

What makes TEN unique?

Many of our members agree that their elective was one of their most rewarding and memorable experiences as a student. Completing your elective is an opportunity to widen your experience, not only of your profession, but also of other cultures. It also offers an opportunity to differentiate your CV.

TEN can help you come up with a unique elective placement that will help set you apart when you start applying for your F1 post.

Key features

  • Hospital database: Provides an encyclopaedia of hospital placements. Use the Q&A section to ask TEN for further information.

  • Feedback and case studies: Get a feel for the placements that catch your attention by reading feedback reports and case studies from students all over the world.
  • TEN gives £20 a month to the student who submits the best case study and offers £150 every quarter to the best feedback provider.
