Can I complain about an inaccurate press story about me?

You can, but it's difficult to give your version of events to press without breaching patient confidentiality...

You can. However, most journalists will then expect you to set out exactly why the story is inaccurate. And if a patient is involved, it's usually impossible to give your version of events without breaching patient confidentiality. If the journalist does agree to print your rebuttal, they will often repeat the allegations from the original report.
