Following the sad news that Professor Dame Clare Marx has passed away, MDU chief executive, Dr Matthew Lee, offered his condolences and paid tribute. He said:
"On behalf of all of my colleagues at the MDU, I want to express my deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Professor Dame Clare Marx.
"Dame Clare was a hugely eminent and respected member of the medical profession - and in so many ways she was a trail blazer. Her death is mourned across the medical community. The Royal College of Surgeons of England, the General Medical Council, and all of those organisations in which she worked, are all left the better for having had access to her wisdom, insight and professionalism."
