I am trying to register with the National Performers List (NPL) as a fully qualified GP, but there has been a delay in processing my application. Will this affect my indemnity?

The MDU has been contacted by a number of doctors concerned about administrative delays in the processing of NPL applications by Capita.

We want to reassure members that the delays should not impact on your ability to approach us for support with medico-legal issues as you usually would. However, it is important that you advise us of any changes to your working circumstances, for example, a move from GPST to fully qualified GP, in order to ensure your work is properly indemnified.

We understand that NHS England (NHSE) is working to find a solution but, in the meantime, if you are affected by these delays, NHSE can advise you about whether you are still able to work.
