Confidentiality: notifiable infectious diseases - including COVID-19

e-learning

You have a statutory duty to notify the 'proper officer' at your local council or local health protection team (HPT) if you have reasonable grounds for suspecting a patient has certain infectious diseases.

This short e-learning module focuses on notifiable infectious diseases.

By the end of this module you should know:

  • what diseases are notifiable
  • what action you're legally required to take if your patient has a notifiable disease, including COVID-19.

You'll also have the opportunity to test your knowledge as you work through the course.
