Confidentiality: notifiable infectious diseases

e-learning

You have a statutory duty to notify the 'proper officer' at your local council or local health protection team if you have reasonable grounds for suspecting a patient has certain infectious diseases.

This short e-learning module focuses on notifiable infectious diseases.

By the end of the module you should know:

  • what diseases are notifiable
  • what action you're legally required to take if your patient has a notifiable disease, including COVID-19.

You'll also have the opportunity to test your knowledge as you work through the course.

Estimated completion time is 20 minutes.

You don't need to finish the course all at once – you can save your progress and pick up where you left off whenever it's convenient.

Once you finish the course you'll be able to download a certificate of completion.
