Freedom of Information Act requests

This short e-learning course will take you through how to deal with Freedom of Information Act requests. It's aimed at GPs, practice managers, senior administrators and anyone else who has managerial responsibility for data protection and freedom of information requests in the practice.

By the end of this module you should:

• understand the practice's responsibilities for making information available to the public under the Freedom of Information Act
• know what information you must make available to the public under the model publication scheme
• be able to respond appropriately to freedom of information requests from the public.

Throughout the course, you'll be able to answer interactive questions and examine a range of different scenarios to help consolidate your learning. You don't have to complete the course in one sitting, and can save your progress and come back to it whenever's convenient for you.
