Writing a report for the coroner

e-learning

This module has been updated to reflect the GMC's 'Good medical practice' (2024) guidance.

This e-learning module will cover how to write a report for the coroner, and what makes a good report.

By the end of this module, you should know:

  • the importance of producing a comprehensive statement for the coroner
  • how to draft a statement for the coroner.

This course will be useful for any clinician who's been asked to write a report for the coroner.

You'll be given the opportunity to tailor the course to your work setting during the module. The module uses examples and interactive questions and scenarios to guide you through and help consolidate your learning, with a short quiz at the end to check your knowledge and understanding.

You don't have to complete the course in one sitting, and can save your progress and come back to it whenever's convenient for you.
